The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies ended it’s trilogy with lots of action, fighting, killing and sadness. I didn’t like this version as much as the last one. The story didn’t flow as smoothly and too many major characters died. It all seemed so pointless. In my opinion, a fantasy like The Hobbit should make you feel like you’ve been on an adventurous journey and the ending should give you warm fuzzes because good triumphs over evil. Maybe a couple of main, good people die along the way but all my hopes and dreams went up in smoke because too many hopefuls didn’t make it to the end. The action was on going, the acting was spot on and overall, The Hobbit was exciting. I’m not sure why so much dying was written into this film, but it was. The army of Elves, the army of Dwarves, the army of Men, the army of the Wargs (wolves), and the ORC army (Goblins), all proved to be quite deadly. It was an ugly fight to the finish. Everyone lost in one way or another. Now that it’s all over, we move on to the next project. Ho Hum!
