THE AGE OF ADALINE (2015) – My rating: 7.5/10

TheAgeOfAdalineI was anxious to see The Age of Adaline because I am so fond of the TV series, Forever.  However, there are huge differences.  The Age of Adaline is about a young women who after being involved in a car accident, stop breathing under water but after 5 minutes is struck by lightening, which starts her heart up and stops her aging process.  From that point on, she doesn’t age.  I soon discovered that she could die, which is the major difference between this movie and Forever.  I found the story intriguing and  Blake Lively who plays Adaline Bowman to be perfect for this role.  What a life she lived and what knowledge she accumulated over 107 years of existence.    Because of her situation, she was forced to keep on the move and change her identity.  She also has a daughter Flemming (Ellen Burstyn) who looks like her grandmother.  Adaline couldn’t allow herself to have a romantic relationship but eventually falls for Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman).  The Age of Adaline is a little slow at some points but picks up and pretty much holds your attention until the end of the film.  Harrison Ford has an interesting role as a former lover who discovers Adaline’s secret.  Overall I think The Age of Adaline is interesting and entertaining.  I enjoyed it.
