IF YOU NEED A STRONG PSALM TO CLING TO, READ THIS

The following passage has kept me going forever.  I hope you will read and believe!  God is good all the time!

Psalm 91 Good News Translation (GNT)

God Our Protector

91 Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,
whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty,
can say to him,
“You are my defender and protector.
You are my God; in you I trust.”
He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers
    and from all deadly diseases.
He will cover you with his wings;
    you will be safe in his care;
his faithfulness will protect and defend you.
You need not fear any dangers at night
or sudden attacks during the day
or the plagues that strike in the dark
or the evils that kill in daylight.

A thousand may fall dead beside you,
    ten thousand all around you,
but you will not be harmed.
You will look and see
    how the wicked are punished.

You have made the Lord your[a] defender,
    the Most High your protector,
10 and so no disaster will strike you,
no violence will come near your home.
11 God will put his angels in charge of you
to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
13 You will trample down lions and snakes,
    fierce lions and poisonous snakes.

14 God says, “I will save those who love me
and will protect those who acknowledge me as Lord.
15 When they call to me, I will answer them;
when they are in trouble, I will be with them.
I will rescue them and honor them.
16 I will reward them with long life;
    I will save them.”

BLACK NATIVITY (2013) – My rating: 9/10

BlackNativityNot only is this a feel good movie, it sends a powerful message of forgiveness and redemption.  IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD!  Having lived in Harlem the first 13 years of my life, I can attest to a village that didn’t allow children on the streets during school hours or back talk to adults or any type of disrespect to elders.  Most parents disciplined their children and didn’t try to be their friends.  Church was a way of life and teenage pregnancies were not celebrated.  Black Nativity stars Jennifer Hudson as Naima, Forrest Whitaker as Reverend Cornell Cobbs, Angela Bassett as Aretha Cobbs, Mary J. Blige as the Angel, Tyrese Gibson as Loot and Jacob Latimore as Langston.  I had no idea what to expect but boy was I pleasantly pleased.  If you’re human, emotions will arise and hallelujahs will be shouted.  A mother and son facing eviction is challenged to deal with their past in order to move forward in a positive way.  Naima, a single mom, sends her only child, during the Christmas holidays, from from Maryland to Harlem, NY to live with grandparents he doesn’t know.  Having mixed emotions about leaving his mom, Langston makes decisions based on his current circumstances. The music is outstanding, the singing superb and the acting by such a stellar cast, fantastic.  While this film is a shoe in for Christians, I think everyone will agree, Black navitivy is good for anyone’s soul.  I for one, have made plans to purchase this one for my library of exceptional movies.

HEAVEN IS FOR REAL (2014) – My rating: 7.5/10

HeavenIsForRealHeaven is for Real was pretty good.   A 4 year old boy had a near death experience when his appendix ruptured.  He survived the ordeal only to tell his parents about people and events that took place in heaven that he couldn’t possibly know about.  He even met Jesus.  It is my understanding from the Bible, that we will not have these earthly bodies in Heaven and when Jesus returns, we will all be judged, therefore no one should be in Heaven (except the original angels) until the Rapture.  I was always under the impression when you die, you are in a deep sleep or unconscientiousness until judgement day.  This is only my interpretation so I could be mistaken.  Also, everything shown in the coming attractions was not shown in the  movie which is a pet peeve of mine.

I had the privilege of meeting the real family with their son at my church a few weeks ago.  They have their own ministry and moved out of their original hometown.  Their son is now 14 years old, as this happened 10 years ago.  Their ordeal reminded me of Resurrection because the town turned against them at first.  I’m not sure if anyone believes the story and I’m not sure how profound the message is.  I do believe the boy had a spiritual experience, I’m just not sure their story wasn’t embellished. It is a good movie, none the less.

GOD’S NOT DEAD (2014) – My rating: 10/10

GodsNotDeadGod’s Not Dead is an amazing movie on every level.  I had heard really good things about this movie.  After seeing it, I have a few good things to say myself.  I’ve seen a lot of Christian based movies but none like this one.  God’s not Dead is based on true events surrounding abusive tactics used on some college campuses.  A student, Josh Wheaton played by Shane Harper, is challenged in his philosophy class to prove that God is not dead or fail the course.  The class is being taught by a dogmatic and argumentative atheist professor played by Kevin Sorbo.  The student, Josh,  goes in depth, refuting every well know philosopher’s findings.  Josh is put down by his family and girlfriend and urged to sign a required paper, put to the class, that states God is Dead.  There are several stories being told that nicely comes together in the end.  Willie Robinson and his wife from Duck Dynasty had a small but significant part in the movie.   As a side note, David A.R. White played Reverend Dave who looks and reminds me so much of Keith Urban that I had a hard time focusing on him as a reverend.  You will definitely shed a tear or two, as God’s not Dead is packed with emotional stories from start to finish.  From the music to the acting, God’s Not Dead is very much alive and a winner in my book.

NOAH (2014) – My rating: 8.5/10

NoahI had heard Noah wasn’t biblical and some other criticisms that I wouldn’t be able to elaborate on until I actually saw the movie.  So now I can tell you that Noah is as biblical as scripture allows.  What I mean by this is the Bible does not go into detail about Noah’s plight.  All that is undefined in the Bible, is filled in by Hollywood.  Whose to say it wasn’t the way this movie depicts the story.  So at best, it’s 75/25 in favor of the Bible.  Russell Crowe really played the heck out of Noah.   Jennifer Connelly as Noah’s wife, Naameh was brilliant.  Noah was tasked, by God, to fulfill this monumental assignment of building an arc to house his family and 2 of all the existing creatures in the world during the annihilation of all sinners by flooding water.  I don’t think the movie mentioned that the rains lasted 40 days and 40 nights.  This information is according to scripture.  Noah was well acted and pretty exciting.  I particularly liked the Watchers.  The special effects were fantastic.  From the arc to the seething waters, it looked real.  As usual,  Anthony Hopkins was outstanding as “grandfather”.   Because I don’t want to add spoilers, I really can’t talk about all of Noah’s  content but I can say Noah is a very good film.  I think it’s worth seeing on the big screen and it’s worth your buck!

SON OF GOD (2014) – My rating: 6/10

SonOfGodWhile I am a staunch Christian, I didn’t like this version of the life of Jesus.  It didn’t flow, it was choppy and all over the place.  It seemed to highlight many significant events from the “New Testament” instead of telling a complete story.  I’m not sure why they made “Son of God”.  Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” is hard to follow.  There is also another older TV mini series (“Jesus of Nazareth”) that was excellent.  “Son of God” is a spin-off of the History Channel’s mini-series, “The Bible.”   In” Son of God” I found several differences between scripture and the movie.  When Jesus raised Lazarus from the grave, he never went into the cave.  Jesus simply shouted “Lazarus, come out!”  (John 11:43).  This really doesn’t change anything but movies like this teaches people who may not know what happened.  I also didn’t understand why Jesus (played by Diogo Morgado) was always smiling, even when He was angry.  That doesn’t lend itself to the reality of His feelings about what was going on.  There were a couple of other inconsistencies but again, insignificant.  I feel the filmmakers lacked respect for true scripture.  My biggest problem was how choppy the movie was and one problem I’ve always had, the Bible says Jesus’ skin is bronze and His hair white, like lamb’s wool (Rev 1:12).  Also in that part of the country, people were not white.  I’m not saying Jesus was Black but he certainly was not white with blue or light gray eyes.  There was nothing different, only lacking in “Son of God” and other than spreading the Gospel, which in this case was not completely accurate, I can’t recommend that anyone should see this movie.

I’m looking for holiness within my human face…
that will come along

I was looking deeper than at my face. I was facing myself just as I’d been doing many dozens of times before, but this is what I need to share  — it was different this time. I was looking through myself and beyond the past of myself, even faster than the speed of light it was. I was really this time in acceptance that I’ve been doing the best that I can do. I know darn well that nothing that I can or did do or even will do makes me worthy of God’s Grace; no matter if I even by some chance may do one thing even perfectly. In fact, I wouldn’t have to work at it to tear up my mental image of myself doing the best that I can — recalling times…

For Christians, This is a Serious Eye Opener!

Someone asked me, who is Tammuz?  The Old Testament mentions him in Ezekiel 8:14. Not really knowing the answer, I researched it on the internet and found this story I’d like to share with everyone.  It raises a lot of questions regarding our celebration of Easter, which I call “Resurrection Sunday”.  Please read and if you are a Christian, seek answers from your church ministry.  Please comment with the answers you find.

The Pagan Origin Of Easter

Easter is a day that is honored by nearly all of contemporary Christianity and is used to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The holiday often involves a church service at sunrise, a feast which includes an “Easter Ham”, decorated eggs and stories about rabbits.

Those who love truth learn to ask questions, and many questions must be asked regarding the holiday of Easter.

Is it truly the day when Jesus arose from the dead? Where did all of the strange customs come from, which have nothing to do with the resurrection of our Saviour?

The purpose of this tract is to help answer those questions, and to help those who seek truth to draw their own conclusions.

The first thing we must understand is that professing Christians were not the only ones who celebrated a festival called “Easter.”

“Ishtar”, which is pronounced “Easter” was a day that commemorated the resurrection of one of their gods that they called “Tammuz”, who was believed to be the only begotten son of the moon-goddess and the sun-god.

In those ancient times, there was a man named Nimrod, who was the grandson of one of Noah’s son named Ham.

Ham had a son named Cush who married a woman named Semiramis.Cush and Semiramis then had a son named him “Nimrod.”

After the death of his father, Nimrod married his own mother and became a powerful King.

The Bible tells of of this man, Nimrod, in Genesis 10:8-10 as follows: “And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.”

Nimrod became a god-man to the people and Semiramis, his wife and mother, became the powerful Queen of ancient Babylon.

Nimrod was eventually killed by an enemy, and his body was cut in pieces and sent to various parts of his kingdom.

Semiramis had all of the parts gathered, except for one part that could not be found.

That missing part was his reproductive organ. Semiramis claimed that Nimrod could not come back to life without it and told the people of Babylon that Nimrod had ascended to the sun and was now to be called “Baal”, the sun god.

Queen Semiramis also proclaimed that Baal would be present on earth in the form of a flame, whether candle or lamp, when used in worship.

Semiramis was creating a mystery religion, and with the help of Satan, she set herself up as a goddess.

Semiramis claimed that she was immaculately conceived.

She taught that the moon was a goddess that went through a 28 day cycle and ovulated when full.

She further claimed that she came down from the moon in a giant moon egg that fell into the Euphrates River.

This was to have happened at the time of the first full moon after the spring equinox.

Semiramis became known as “Ishtar” which is pronounced “Easter”, and her moon egg became known as “Ishtar’s” egg.”

Ishtar soon became pregnant and claimed that it was the rays of the sun-god Baal that caused her to conceive.

The son that she brought forth was named Tammuz.

Tammuz was noted to be especially fond of rabbits, and they became sacred in the ancient religion, because Tammuz was believed to be the son of the sun-god, Baal. Tammuz, like his supposed father, became a hunter.

The day came when Tammuz was killed by a wild pig.

Queen Ishtar told the people that Tammuz was now ascended to his father, Baal, and that the two of them would be with the worshippers in the sacred candle or lamp flame as Father, Son and Spirit.

Ishtar, who was now worshiped as the “Mother of God and Queen of Heaven”, continued to build her mystery religion.

The queen told the worshipers that when Tammuz was killed by the wild pig, some of his blood fell on the stump of an evergreen tree, and the stump grew into a full new tree overnight. This made the evergreen tree sacred by the blood of Tammuz.

She also proclaimed a forty day period of time of sorrow each year prior to the anniversary of the death of Tammuz.

During this time, no meat was to be eaten.

Worshipers were to meditate upon the sacred mysteries of Baal and Tammuz, and to make the sign of the “T” in front of their hearts as they worshipped.

They also ate sacred cakes with the marking of a “T” or cross on the top.

Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made.

It was Ishtar’s Sunday and was celebrated with rabbits and eggs.

Ishtar also proclaimed that because Tammuz was killed by a pig, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.

By now, the readers of this tract should have made the connection that paganism has infiltrated the contemporary “Christian” churches, and further study indicates that this paganism came in by way of the Roman Catholic System.

The truth is that Easter has nothing whatsoever to do with the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We also know that Easter can be as much as three weeks away from the Passover, because the pagan holiday is always set as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox.

Some have wondered why the word “Easter” is in the the King James Bible.

It is because Acts, chapter 12, tells us that it was the evil King Herod, who was planning to celebrate Easter, and not the Christians.

The true Passover and pagan Easter sometimes coincide, but in some years, they are a great distance apart.

So much more could be said, and we have much more information for you, if you are a seeker of the truth.

We know that the Bible tells us in John 4:24, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”

The truth is that the forty days of Lent, eggs, rabbits, hot cross buns and the Easter ham have everything to do with the ancient pagan religion of Mystery Babylon. These are all antichrist activities!

Satan is a master deceiver, and has filled the lives of well-meaning, professing Christians with idolatry.

These things bring the wrath of God upon children of disobedience, who try to make pagan customs of Baal worship Christian.

You must answer for your activities and for what you teach your children.

These customs of Easter honor Baal, who is also Satan, and is still worshipped as the “Rising Sun” and his house is the “House of the Rising Sun.”

How many churches have “sunrise services” on Ishtar’s day and face the rising sun in the East?

How many will use colored eggs and rabbit stories, as they did in ancient Babylon.

These things are no joke, any more than Judgement day is a joke.

I pray to God that this tract will cause you to search for more truth.

We will be glad to help you by providing more information and by praying for you.

These are the last days, and it is time to repent, come out and be separate.
